Artist / Karen Knorr

Karen Knorr is a senior artist whose work positions itself in relation to debates around post colonialism, feminism, and visual culture. These works are from two recent series one set inside the Chantilly Castle and the other in the environs of the Chateau de Chambord. They explore three recurring themes: 1) the fables of Aesop and La Fontaine 2) Surrealism, montage and a dialogue with the uncanny 3) Nature encroaching into the aristocratic household the hunted hunting the hunter.
